EVIDENCED – BASED THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES

Counselling sessions are tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of clients through these distinct interventions. Here are various techniques and methods utilized in our therapeutic sessions:

Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)
Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) is a structured approach that focuses on gaining awareness of your emotions and understanding them. Coping strategies are explored to help face and manage your emotions.
Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT)
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is an approach that involves tapping on specific meridian points on the body while focusing on emotional distress or negative thoughts, aiming to release emotional blockages, alleviate psychological symptoms and promote emotional well-being.
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy technique that utilizes bilateral stimulation to help individuals process and alleviate distressing memories and traumatic experiences.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness therapy involves cultivating present-moment awareness and nonjudgmental acceptance to alleviate emotional distress, promote self-awareness, and enhance overall well-being.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy is a form of depth psychology that explores unconscious patterns and conflicts, focusing on how past experiences and early relationships influence current thoughts, feelings, and behaviours to promote insight, self-awareness, and emotional healing.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a goal-oriented and strength-based approach that emphasizes identifying and building upon clients’ existing resources and solutions rather than focusing on problems, with a focus on creating practical and achievable steps toward desired outcomes.
Somatic Psychotherapy
A neurobiological method based on the belief that experiences are stored not only in the mind but also in the body. While cognitive and analytical psychotherapy may focus solely on the narrative created by the mind, somatic techniques directly engage with the bodily experience, accessing raw, unfiltered sensations. By working with the felt-sense, these techniques enable clients to process experiences on both emotional and neurological levels, moving beyond mere cognitive understanding.
Trauma Informed Therapy
Trauma-informed therapy is an approach to treatment that recognizes the prevalence and impact of trauma on individuals’ mental health and well-being, emphasizing safety, trust, empowerment, and a holistic understanding of trauma’s effects in the therapeutic process.
